8/1/2025

Getting started with EV charging doesn't have to be confusing. This guide breaks down home charging options, how to use public networks, and how to plan reliable road trips.
Home charging
Level 1 (120V) works overnight for shorter commutes. Level 2 (240V) gives ~25–35 miles per hour depending on your car’s onboard charger.
Public DC fast
Use the automaker’s preferred network or roaming apps. Aim for 10–80% sessions for best time. Expect peak rates to vary by model.
Trip planning
Plan stops around food and rest. Keep a 10–20% buffer. In winter, add margin for cabin heat; a heat pump helps.
